At present we have 19 children in our love filled boarding house (with facilities to expand), whilst still retaining a family environment. In addition, we have to students who attend our school as ‘walk in’s’ from our village and we support 46 children in the community to attend other schools close to them.
Maya
Maya is 4 years old and came to Esuubi when she was only 6 months. She is in pre-school and her favourite subject is reading the book about ice cream. During her free time, Maya loves to sing and dance. When she grows up, she would like to be a nurse and a doctor.
Ellie
Ellie arrived at Esuubi extremely malnourished when she was only 6 months old (some thought she would not survive), but now 7 years old and known affectionately as Ellie the Belly! She is in Year 1 and her favourite subjects are maths, PE, cool time and art. Ellie’s hobbies are sleeping and playing games. When she grows up, Ellie would like to be a doctor, a pastor and a mother.
Becca
Becca is 9 years old and came to Esuubi when she was just 2, with her older sister Patricia. She is in year 3 and her favourite subjects are cool time and art & design. When she’s not in school, she likes to play mothers. When Becca grows up, she would like to be a fashion star.
Hasifah
Hasifah is 10 years old and came to Esuubi with her older sister Fatuma. She is in Year 5 and enjoys all subjects at school. Outside of school, she likes to play with her friends and her dolls, and read her Bible. When she grows up, Hasifah would like to be an astronaut, a surgeon and a dancer.
Benji
Benji is 11 years old and came to Esuubi when he was 3. He is in Year 3 and his favourite subjects are PE and PSHE. Benji’s hobbies are playing “Phase 10” (a card game) and football. When he grows up, Benji would like to be a pilot.
Patricia
Patricia is 11 years old and came to Esuubi when she was 4, with her younger sister Becca. She is in Year 5 and her favourite subjects are science, maths and PE. She likes reading stories and playing Phase 10 in her free time. When she grows up, Patricia would like to be a bank manager.
Priscah
Priscah is 11 years old and came to Esuubi when she was 7. She is in Year 3 and her favourite subjects are science, art & design and PE. Her hobbies are playing with her baby doll, swimming and Phase 10. When she grows up she would like to be a nurse, a doctor or a model.
Faith
Faith is 12 years old. She is in Year 6 and her favourite subjects are English and maths. She likes to read novels and play with her dolls in her spare time. When Faith grows up, she would like to be a doctor and an engineer.
Fatumah
Fatuma is 13 years old and came to Esuubi with her younger sister Hasifah. She is in Year 8 and her favourite subjects are history, geography, science, life skills, PE, global perspectives and ICT. Her hobbies are relaxing and playing chess. When Fatumah grows up, she would like to be a doctor.
Shatrah
Shatrah is 13 years old and came to Esuubi when she was 3 years old. She is in year 5 and her favourite subjects are PE, life skills, read aloud, science, art & design, history, humanities and PSHE. In her free time she likes to play Phase 10 and to help Aunt Faith with cooking. Shatrah would like to be a lawyer or a teacher when she grows up.
Brian
Brian has a background and a story that’s simply hard to believe – words will never do it justice. However today his smile and happiness that he generates inspires us all, the very reason he’s called our happiness coach! He is around 14 years old.
Jovitah
Jovitah is 14 years old and came to Esuubi last year. She is in Year 5 and her favourite subjects are maths and science. In her free time, she likes relaxing, listening to music and dancing. Jovitah would like to be a business lady when she grows up.
Tahil
Tahil is 14 years old and came to Esuubi with his older sister Zabinah. He is in Year 3 and his favourite subject is maths. Tahil’s hobbies outside of school are playing and football. When he grows up, he would like to be a baker.
Hope
Hope is 16 years old and came to Esuubi when she was 10. She is in Year 6 and her favourite subjects are ICT, PE, science and maths. In her free time, Hope enjoys playing Phase 10, dancing, playing tennis and playing on the computer. When she grows up, she would like to be a Neurologist.
Zakie
Zakie is 16 years old and came to Esuubi when she was 7. She is in Year 6 and her favourite subjects are hs, English, science and ICT. Her hobbies are reading novels and relaxing. She would like to be either an accountant or a doctor.
Derrick
Derrick is 16 years old. He is in Year 8 and his favourite subject is science. His hobbies are playing chess, listening to music and dancing. When Derrick is older, he would like to be a pharmacist.
Goreti
Goreti is 17 years old and came to Esuubi when she was 13. She is in Year 8 and her favourite subjects are English, science, PE, global perspectives, life skills and ICT. Her hobbies are singing, dancing and relaxing with the Esuubi kids. When she graduates, she would like to be a cardiologist.
Arafat
Arafat (known as Alpha) is 18 years old. He is in Year 8 and his favourite subjects are French, science and geography. Alpha’s hobbies are playing guitar and football. When he grows up, he would like to be a pilot.
Zabinah
Zabinah is 18 years old and came to Esuubi when she was 10. She is the older sister of Tahil and step sister to Arafat. She is in Year 6 and her favourite subjects are science, humanities, French, global perspectives and ICT. In her free time, Zabinah likes to play with the other Esuubi kids, listen to music, watch movies and converse with the Aunties. When she graduates, she would like to be a lawyer.
